What is the LIT Scholarship program?

Our scholarship program is a way for us to bring even more amazing location independent therapists into our LIT Community. Not only does it provide an opportunity for mental health professionals who may otherwise not be in a financial position to be a part of a community like ours, but it also provides an opportunity for our community to benefit from welcoming members from even more diverse backgrounds.

Why have we implemented a scholarship?

The LIT Community is an inclusive, welcoming, supportive place for location independent mental health professionals from all backgrounds to come together to learn from and support each other. We want to be able to welcome anyone who would love to be a part of our community. We recognise that earning power and available opportunities vary dramatically around the world and with individual circumstances and the LIT scholarship program is a way for us to welcome members who might otherwise not be in a financial position to take part.

Who is the LIT Scholarship for?

As we said, it’s for anyone who would love to be a part of our community for location independent mental health professionals and for whom the cost of membership has been a barrier.

If your earning power in your market is significantly lower than that of Western Europe or the US, or you’ve experienced reduced opportunities due to other factors in your life, we warmly invite you to apply.

Some example applicants might include people from developing nations, people of colour, LGBTQ+ people, and members of other marginalised groups.

What does the LIT Scholarship cover?

The LIT scholarship provides you with a reduced membership fee. You’ll be a fully-fledged LIT Community member and have access to everything our community has to offer – business meetups, peer supervisions, book club, LIT Talks, a listing in our LIT directory, access to community discussion boards, and more!

If you’re offered the scholarship, we won’t disclose this information at any time as we want all our members to feel like they are on an equal footing within our community. So, please don’t let that hold you back from applying if you feel that you meet the requirements for the scholarship.

You’ll continue to receive the reduced membership rate for as long as you’d like to remain a part of the community. If your situation changes and you feel that you’re able to afford a full membership we do ask that you’ll notify the LIT Team so that we can open up the opportunity to provide someone else with the scholarship.

What is the application process for the LIT Scholarship?

There are two steps to applying for the LIT Scholarship, and both steps are essential to the process. First, you’ll fill out a short application form by clicking the button below. Then, we ask you to send us a short 1-3 minute video introducing yourself and sharing why you’d like to join the LIT Community. You can record this on your laptop/phone camera, it doesn’t need to be anything fancy – we just want to get to know you! Please send this to community@locationindependenttherapists.com (via https://wetransfer.com/ if your file is too big).
