LIT Community – Additional Terms & Conditions
These terms supplement the Mighty Networks Terms of Use and apply specifically to participation in the LIT Community under our open-door membership model.
By joining the LIT Community, you agree to the following:
Scholarship Memberships
We offer a limited number of scholarship places to help make the LIT Community more accessible to those who might not otherwise be able to afford it. These reduced-fee memberships are designed for therapists and mental health professionals who are navigating financial limitations due to systemic barriers, life circumstances, or lower-income settings. You can learn more and apply here.
- All scholarship members receive full access to community features, events, and resources.
- We do not disclose who is on a scholarship plan – your membership experience is equal to that of any other member.
- From time to time, we may check in to see whether your situation has changed and if you’re able to move to the full-rate or a higher tier. This helps us keep the program sustainable and continue offering support to others who need it.
- If you are an existing member (not on a scholarship) and your financial situation changes and you think you might qualify for our scholarship plan, you’re welcome to apply, even if you’re already a member. You can learn more about our scholarship and apply here.
Billing & Refunds
- We accept payment via credit or debit card only. We do not accept PayPal or other payment methods.
- Your membership will renew automatically based on the billing cycle you select (monthly or annual). You are responsible for managing or cancelling your subscription.
- After each payment, you’ll receive an automated receipt sent to the email you used when signing up.
- Renewal reminders are also sent automatically: 3 days before your monthly payment is due or 30 days before your annual payment is due.
- To ensure you receive these emails, please safelist the domain @mn.co. If you can’t find these emails, check your spam folder or contact chat@mightynetworks.com.
- No refunds will be issued for:
- Forgetting to cancel before your next billing date
- Unused time after cancellation
- Failing to enter a valid EU VAT ID at sign-up (see Section 5: VAT below)
VAT (Value Added Tax), if Applicable
- VAT depends on where you or your business is registered and is calculated automatically based on your billing address.
- As a business registered in Germany, LIT charges German VAT (19%) to all EU-based members, regardless of country, because we are below the EU-wide VAT threshold.
- If you have a valid (non-German) EU VAT ID, enter it during checkout to apply the reverse charge mechanism.
- Members outside the EU are not charged VAT.
- If you obtain an EU VAT ID after signing up, you can add or update it in your Mighty Networks account by following these steps:
- Click your profile picture in the top right corner.
- Go to Personal Settings > Account > Billing.
- Enter or update your Tax ID number.
- To ensure your VAT ID is applied to your next invoice, please update it at least a few days before your billing date. This gives the system enough time to process the change. Please note that VAT will only be adjusted for future payments. We cannot issue refunds for VAT charged on past invoices if the VAT ID was not entered or processed in time.
Switching Between Monthly and Annual Plans
- You can upgrade from monthly to annual at any time, saving two months’ fees (a total of $199.98 per year).
- You can also switch from annual to monthly if needed.
- To switch your billing cycle:
- Log in to the web version of Mighty Networks (this option is not available in the mobile app)
- Navigate to Personal Settings > Your Purchases
- Click Select Plan to Switch and choose the desired billing cycle.
- When switching from monthly to annual or vice versa, the change will take effect on your next billing date.
Cancelling Your Membership
- Both monthly & annual memberships can be cancelled at any time via:
- Mobile app (iOS or Android): Profile > Your Purchases > Active Subscriptions
- Web browser: Profile photo > Personal Settings > Your Purchases
- Your membership remains active until the end of the current subscription period, after which your access will be removed. No refunds are provided for unused time.
- Upon cancellation, your profile will be removed from the community and the LIT Directory (if applicable).
Re-joining the Community
We understand that circumstances change, and you’re welcome to re-join the LIT Community after leaving, whether it’s a few months later or further down the line.
- You can use your existing Mighty Networks account to re-join – there’s no need to create a new one.
- Please note that frequent cancellations and re-joins can create additional admin work and impact the rhythm of the community. If we notice a pattern of repeated sign-ups and cancellations, we reserve the right to limit access in the future to help protect the sustainability of the space.
Events, Recordings, Media & Communications
Most live events take place on Zoom. Recordings are made available for many (but not all) events and are accessible inside Mighty Networks.
- Some events, especially those involving sensitive or confidential content, such as case supervisions, Money Meetups, and coworking sessions, are not recorded to maintain privacy and psychological safety.
- If you wish to pause the recording during an event, please notify the host, and we will accommodate your request.
- Occasionally, we take screenshots during live events to share glimpses of community life on social media or in our outreach materials. By joining the LIT Community, you acknowledge and agree that your image may appear in these screenshots unless you let us know that you’d prefer not to be included. In those cases, we’ll blur your image or name before sharing.
- By joining the LIT Community, you agree to receive occasional email updates from our team, including our monthly member newsletter with community highlights, events, and important announcements. These emails are part of how we keep members informed and connected. However, if you prefer not to receive them, you can opt out at any time by emailing us at community@locationindependenttherapists.com
