Hi and welcome, I’m Nina, and I work with people facing change and transition, challenges of an international life, parenthood or relationship issues. As a passionate surfer and mother of twins, I have chosen to live in Northern Denmark at the moment. Therefore, I am familiar both professionally and personally with how big changes like parenthood or moving to another country can affect relationships and mental health.
I have been offering psychological counselling and coaching online since 2020. I graduated with honours from Goethe University Frankfurt in 2021. Cognitive neuropsychology and clinical psychology were my main areas of interest and study. Before that, I did my bachelor’s degree in Trier, and completed a year of study and internships in northern Spain.
I work with my clients using different techniques, which I apply flexibly and individually. These include techniques from cognitive behavioural therapy, the person-centred approach and Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT). ACT is the core of my work. Here the name says it all: learn to accept what you cannot change and act committed where you can and want to make a difference. According to this approach, certain behaviours bring us closer to the life we want to lead and other behaviours take us away from it. Together with my clients, I look at what and who is important to them, help define steps in the direction they want to go, and provide tools to learn to better deal with difficult thoughts and feelings.
