Sámar Khalife Iglesias is a licensed psychologist who works with multicultural and diverse individuals, couples and families all over the world in English and Spanish. She especially has experience supporting anyone struggling with an intersection of identities.
Sámar is a Third Culture Kid (TCK) born in the United States, product of an intercultural couple. Her Puerto Rican mother and Lebanese father made sure she grew up surrounded by many languages and cultures, which has helped her connect with people from all sorts of backgrounds as well as be open to sharing different points of view. This has made her passionate about working with bilingual, intercultural and interracial couples.
With a background in family systems, she uses this alongside her knowledge and training in contextual and third wave cognitive-behavioral therapies to address a variety of issues relating to depression, trauma, life transitions, grief and loss, stress, anxiety as well as relationship and family dynamics.
As a woman of color based in Madrid, Spain, she felt a need for more work addressing the difficulties that a person of color could face abroad. This is why she facilitates a healing space for Black, Indigenous & People Of Color (BIPOC) abroad in addition to therapy and counseling clients in her private practice.
Sámar is also a Professor at Suffolk University’s Madrid Campus, where she teaches her favorite subject within the realm of psychology- Human Sexuality.
