Dr Sonia Jaeger is a German-French psychologist and psychotherapist who has been supporting clients online for more than a decade. She works in German, French and English with individuals, couples and adult families around the world.
Many of her clients are expats, digital nomads or LGBTQIA+, while others simply live outside traditional expectations. Common topics include identity and belonging, stress and overwhelm, relationship and family dynamics, difficult thoughts and emotions, and major life transitions.
Having grown up between two languages and cultures and lived as a digital nomad since 2014, Sonia understands many of the realities of building a life across countries and cultures. Clients often choose to work with her because they feel that they do not need to explain the wider context of their international or unconventional lives.
Her counselling approach is solution-focused and strengths-based, drawing particularly on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Sessions combine conversation and reflection with practical tools and exercises adapted to each client’s needs, values and circumstances.
Sonia is the co-founder of the Location Independent Therapists (LIT) Community and has also mentored, coached and trained hundreds of mental health professionals across the globe as they build or develop their own online practices.
